The inspiration for Albert to launch Stampone Publishing developed thanks to a childhood love of reading books and, of course, magazines. That progressed into a love of writing. Prior to launching his first magazine in North Haledon and Hawthorne in 2000, he worked as a writer and editor for several papers and magazines, where he interviewed entertainment personalities such as Seth Meyers, Michelle Trachtenberg, Dave Attell, Chris Elliott and Stan Lee. He’s often asked why and even how he came up with the idea of publishing a magazine. “I developed the concept, I knew what the magazine would look like, I believed people would like it, and I was still in my twenties, so I went for it!”
In the 15 years since the launch of the first issue, Downtown’s editions have continued to grow and gain popularity among both readers and advertisers. Today, with nearly 20 years of experience in publishing, Albert’s expertise in marketing, advertising and brand strategy is instrumental in helping Downtown advertisers successfully promote their products and services.
